The Alpha Kappa Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was founded at the University of Oregon on June 22, 1921. At Alpha Chi we believe in inspiring women to reach their potential through leadership, sisterhood and community service. We take pride in our campus involvement, our academic success and bleed green and yellow! Currently, we have almost 200 active members. In 2014 we were awarded with Outstanding Intellectual Development and Academic Support chapter of the year at the University of Oregon Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards.
- MEET BARB -
Barb Unck, our amazing housemother, and her trusted companion Charlie! Barb is genuinely caring, loving and does a wonderful job making Alpha Kappa our home away from home. She has been the House Director for Alpha Kappa for the past 15 years and we cannot imagine what our chapter would be like without her. Barb is a die-hard Duck fan, as well as a Daisy Duck so you can always spot her in the crowd at sporting events! Not only does Barb play a large role in supporting our teams, but she also supports us! From cheering us on at Greek Week, to setting out study snacks during midterms and finals, Barb plays a major role here at Alpha Chi. Barb even won House Mom of the year at the 2014 University of Oregon Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards! We are so blessed to have a Real Strong Woman like Barb in our lives!
